Stretches out into the Arabian Sea, with a hint of the desert and with a coastline of 1600 kms long is Gujarat – the home state of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of Nation. It is renowned for its beaches, temple towns and historic capitals. Wildlife sanctuaries, hill resorts and natural grandeur are gifts of Gujarat. Sculpture, handicrafts, arts, festivals also make the state rich. Gujarat is also among the most technologically advanced, housing the largest petrochemical complex in the country.
Gujarat has always been a major centre for the Jains and some of its most interesting locations are the Jain Temple centres at Palitana and Girnar Hills. Besides the Jain temples, the state’s major attractions include the only habitat of the Asiatic Lions in India (Gir Forests), a desert ride at the Wild Ass Sanctuary and the beautiful Indo-Saracenic Architecture of Ahmedabad. The colourful tribal villages of Kutch make a visit unforgettable.
Schedule
Day 1: Ahmedabad – Jamnagar (315KM)
On arrival at Ahmedabad Airport / Rly station, transfer to Jamnagar check in to the hotel. In afternoon visit Lakota Lake & Lakota Museum and Bala Hanuman Temple. Evening is free for Shopping. Overnight Stay at hotel.
Day 2: Jamnagar – Dwarka (150KM)
Today, proceed to the sacred town of Dwarka. Visit Dwarkadeesh Temple and Gomti Ghat. In the afternoon take a trip to Bet Dwarka, visit Old Temple of Krishna. the trip from Okha on the mainland to the temple is by a local boat. On the way to Bet Dwarka, visit Nageshwar Temple – One of the 12th Jyotilingam of Shiva. Rukmini Temple and Gopi Talav Return back to Dwarka. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Dwarka – Porbandar - Somnath (250KM)
In the morning depart to Porbandar (75km/1.5hrs) at Porbandar visit Kirti Mandir – A place where Gandhiji was born. Later proceed to Somnath (130km/2.5hrs) on arrival visit Bhalka Tirth & Somnath Temple. In the evening watch light and Sound show. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 4: Somnath – Diu (100KM)
Today, Proceed to beach town Diu. enjoy the wide variety of water sports facilities available at Nagoa Beach. Later, visit St. Paul's Church, Diu Museum and Diu Fort. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 5: Diu – Sasan Gir (100KM)
Today, proceed to Sasangir. Sasangir, is the home of the Asiatic Lion. In the afternoon Visit Gir Interpretation Zone at Devaliya. Crocodile breeding farm, Gir Information Centre. Watch movie on lion at Gir Information center in the evening. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 6: Sasangir – Junagadh – Ahemdabad (400KM)
Today, morning Proceed to Ahmedabad, Enroute Junagadh, visit Uperkot Fort, Ashok Rock Edict, Mahabat Makabara and Junagadh Museum. In the evening transfer to Ahmedabad. Overnight stay at hotel
Day 7: Ahmedabad - Kevadiya - Ahmedabad (450KM) Monday Closed
Today morning proceed to visit Statue Of Unity (World Tallest Statue). Visit Sardar Sarovar Dam, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Statue, Viewing Gallery, Butterfly Garden, Cactus Garden, Jungle Safari, in the evening Light and Sound show. Overnight stay at Ahmedabad.
Day 8: Ahmedabad City Tour & Drop.
Today, visit Gandhi Ashram, Akshardham Temple and Adalaj stepwell. Drop in the evening at airport or Railway. With Lots of Memories
